Pour son premier match dans le Groupe F, le Mexique a décroché une victoire historique lors de cette Coupe du Monde de la FIFA, Russie 2018™ en terrassant le tenant du titre allemand 1:0 dans un stade Loujniki en fusion – et plein à craquer.
La stratégie de Juan Carlos Osorio a fonctionné à la perfection. Les joueurs d’*El Tri* ont encaissé les longues séquences de possession allemande et frappé la *Mannschaft* en contre. La réalisation de Hirving Lozano est survenue sur un mouvement éclair, voyant une nuée de maillots verts se ruer vers le but adverse et l’attaquant du PSV Eindhoven battre Manuel Neuer avec sang-froid.
Les hommes de Joachim Löw ont eu leur part dans cette rencontre passionnante, avec notamment un coup franc de Toni Kroos échouant sur la barre transversale. Les efforts allemands se sont toutefois avérés vains, les trois points revenant pour finir à leurs adversaires mexicains.

Incroyable ! L’Allemagne est désormais le troisième tenant du titre mondial d’affilée à ne pas l'emporter dès son entrée en lice. Plus inquiétant encore, l’Italie et l’Espagne, en 2010 et en 2014 respectivement, ont été éliminées en phase de groupes – une lourde tâche attend donc les quadruples champions du monde s’ils ne veulent pas connaître le même sort. Peu de choses ont fonctionné comme les Allemands l’espéraient et Joachim Löw devrait effectuer plusieurs changements en vue du prochain match.

Le Mexique a abordé ce match avec une stratégie claire et il s’y est tenu à la perfection.
